Though The Mahoney Brothers had recorded demos of originals songs all throughout the 1980's, since the release of 1982's "Runnin' Too Long" album, the band had established themselves primarily as a world-renowned tribute act from thousands of performances of their shows Long Live The Beatles and Jukebox Heroes Live! all around the world.

Influenced by a burgeoning country music revival, The Mahoney Brothers began booking shows as a country pop band in the early 1990's. The line-up of Tim, Brian, Mike, along with Ed O'Connor on lead guitar, would perform a mix of classic rockabilly, modern country pop, and reimagined 60's covers, along with, for the first time in more than a decade, a handful of original songs.

This 6-song demo, only ever released on cassette tapes at exclusively at shows beginning in the summer of 1994, features a mix of those covers and originals. Kicking off with a "countrified" take of a Mike Nesmith-penned Monkees tune called "The Kind Of Girl I Could Love," the album also features songs from Hal Ketchum, Marty Stuart, Outlaws, along with the two Mahoney written tracks that would later be featured on their 1998 full-length originals comeback album, simply entitled, The Mahoney Brothers Band.
